I have two days till I leave to Vegas and I expect things to go askew. Today while I am jumping in Thadd's car to put gas in it, Brett screams over the walkie-talkie, "THE POND HAS A LEAK!!" I jump out of the car and run to the pond. Thadd comes running out of the house where he was called via the walkie-talkie. Everyone stands around the pond and at the back corner we see a pipe fitting had slipped and water is shooting up in a glorious fountain. For a moment I imagine I am already in Vegas witnessing the glorious fountains that welcome visitors from around the globe. A light show coordinates with the water creating a synchronized water and light display mesmerizing even the most staunch critic. I return to reality where a loose pipe is spewing water five feet into the sky. My husband rushes over and shuts off all water to the pond.
Relieved, I remember the car is still idling. The only problem with the idling car is the "0" associated with miles left it can travel. I jump in the car and drive four miles to the closest gas station. I press the gas when necessary and I coast most of the way. At the stop sign across from the gas station the car sounds like it is about to turn off. I press the gas and hope it will make it the 100 ft separating us from gastopia. We made it!!
At home, I turned the warming lights on for the kitties outside. Thadd says, "When you aren't here the kitties don't get warming lights!" I almost started crying! Why would he say that to me? The temperature is supposed to drop down below freezing and the kitties need their warming lights!!!!! UGH!
Today I packed for the trip. I will be there Tuesday-Sunday and I fit all of my clothing, products and shoes in a single carry-on. I also have additional space for bringing home treats. Yes, it is an APPROVED carry-on. I'm just not sure I have room for the million dollars I plan to win at the blackjack table. Can they wire that to me?
I am thankful for the magical gas in my gas tank that helped me to arrive at the gas station.(Day40) Have a wonderful day tomorrow, Goodnight Friends.
